What is Moon Stone? (Adularescence Effect)
Moonstone is a potassium aluminum silicate consisting of a thin-layered combination of orthoclase and albite feldspar minerals. These layers cause the scattering of light, giving the stone its unique blue-white glow ( adularescence ).

The highest quality and most valuable is the Blue Moon Stone , which reflects blue light. Rainbow Moonstone is a type of plagioclase feldspar technically called White Labradorite.
